William Nulan was listed as Age 57 and a "Laborer" born (about 1793) in Va. His wife, Charity, was Age 50 and was also born in Va. She and two others out of 42 individuals are listed as a "Person over 29 years of age who cannot read & write."

His 44 year-old wife, Catharine was listed with her Occupation as "Keeping house." She was born in Ohio, as were their first two children, 19 year-old David and 18 year-old John A. Richard M. was 14 years-old, born in Illinois; Emily C. was 12 years-old and was born in Wisconsin. All the children in the family, as most did the area, "Attended school within the year."
